If you want to make NBC’s “Meet the Press” moderator David Gregory uncomfortable, just ask him about Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien:
“I’d love to help you out. I’m not going to go there.”
In an interview with the Tribune’s Phil Rosenthal, Gregory stayed as far away from the controversy with his network’s late-night line-up as he could. “I try to be a good company guy,” Gregory said. “I feel bad for what’s gone on, because I like both (Leno and O’Brien). But I trust our guys to figure it out and make the right call. I don’t want to create any waves by weighing in.”
