Charlie’s back! CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose made his highly-anticipated return to the CTM desk at Studio 57 today after having surgery on Feb. 9 to replace a 15-year-old aortic valve.

Rose thanked his co-hosts Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell for their support, as well as his fill-in Anthony Mason, who will return to the CBS This Morning: Saturday desk with Alex Wagner.

Rose also thanked “the people out there, who were enormous in terms of what they sent to me, saying we’re thinking about you, we care about you, we miss you — all of that. I told them to stay close and they did.”

After this morning’s show, Rose made an impromptu, surprise check-into the CTM editorial staff meeting and was greeted by thunderous applause.

Here’s video of his return:

Public figures welcomed Rose back to the program as well, including President Trump, who recorded a video message for Rose which played at the top of the show: “Charlie welcome back. We all missed you.” Rose joked about the president’s message, “Are you sure he’s talking about me?”

The future Hall-of-Famer Derek Jeter gave his best as well:
