Charlie Gibson Brings ‘World News’ to Washington One Last Time

By Chris Ariens

With just three shows left, Charlie Gibson is taking “World News” on the road today. He’ll be broadcasting from Washington, DC where he got some time with the president today. Gibson was an ABC News correspondent on Capitol Hill and at the White House in the late ’70s and early ’80s.

ABC tells us Gibson’s interview with Obama covered the war in Afghanistan, health care reform, and the economy, among other topics. We’re told Obama did raise the issue of Gibson’s retirement, but we’ll have to wait until the broadcast tonight to hear what he said.
