As he promised in a note to his staff earlier this week, “CBS This Morning” EP Chris Licht is changing things up behind the scenes at the fast-growing morning show.
In addition to Cari Strassberg jumping from “GMA” to “CTM,” the show is also bringing on Diana Miller as Senior Producer of the 8am hour. She joins from WCBS. Eric Bloom becomes Senior Producer of the 7a hour and John Peck has been named Senior Producer of the on-air operation.
Adam Verdugo, who is joining CBS from NBC’s “Meet the Press” will head up the show’s Los Angeles team while Sandy Gleysteen will move to New York to coordinate special coverage and taped pieces.
Matt Glick, a former longtime “Today” show producer who joined “CTM” in 2012 to oversee guest bookings, will be leaving the show.
“You all work so hard to make CBS This Morning a quality, compelling broadcast,” Licht writes in a note to the staff. “This senior team is here to help you keep the momentum going.”

The past several months have seen several changes within your senior team. Ryan and I have seized this opportunity to really take a hard look at how we manage such a large production and fantastic staff. We think we’ve come up with a plan to “make it better.” This morning, I am excited to announce the following moves:
As we announced Monday, Cari Strassberg joins the team as Senior Producer, Overnight. She starts the first week of January.
Diana Miller is joining us as Senior Producer of the 8a hour. Diana comes to CTM from our local NY station, where she was Executive Producer of “Live from The Couch.” She is a veteran of CNN where she worked with several of our current staffers on AC360. Diana also spent some time launching a show at MTV. She is a multiple Emmy, Peabody and DuPont Award winner. Her energy and news sense will make her a strong addition to the team. She moves to CTM the week of January 13th.
John Peck becomes Senior Producer of our on-air operation. This acknowledges the incredible job he’s done over the past several months in the control room getting the broadcast on the air cleanly every day.
Eric Bloom becomes Senior Producer of the 7a hour. Eric has grown into this role since our recent changes, and we look for him to continue his work making the 7a even better.
Sandy Gleysteen is going to, for the time being, do away with the sun and fun of LA to give New York a try. She will oversee all tape features, coordinate special coverage and act as liaison to other CBS News broadcasts and platforms. She’s been vital to our success out west and I look forward to her expanding role here in NYC.
Adam Verdugo will head-up our great team in LA. Adam is an LA native and looks forward to not only leading the group, but being out in the field producing. We’re still working on exactly when this move will happen, but I am shooting for early February.
We’ve gotten a lot of feedback on needing quicker script approval. So, Brian Bingham will move upstairs to the news room, where he will help oversee day-of scripts. We are launching a search for his replacement in Hard News. Once we find the right person, Brian will make the move.
Matt Glick will stay with us through the transition. However, you will be hearing more about an exciting opportunity for him very soon. I want to thank him for his efforts in both the booking unit and the 8a. He’s a great colleague who has good things in his future.
In conjunction with the above, we will be reorganizing to whom each person reports. That will be communicated to you soon. We are also continuing to fill BA, AP and producer slots to be sure we are fully staffed in the new year.
As we head into our THIRD year, we are on a roll. You all work so hard to make CBS This Morning a quality, compelling broadcast. This senior team is here to help you keep the momentum going.
