It is my pleasure to announce that Mary Laurence (“ML”) Flynn has been appointed Senior Producer, Editorial Planning for NBC News, reporting to Alex Wallace. In this role, Flynn will develop and manage key editorial projects for NBC News shows and talent across all divisions.

Flynn has done a tremendous job at “Nightly News” as Senior Producer of Foreign, Environmental and Olympic Coverage, managing daily foreign news coverage for many of the biggest international stories over the past two decades. As the senior foreign producer, her assignments span coverage of the Bosnian War, Nelson Mandela’s election, the Rwandan genocide, Mideast intifadas, the Haiti and Russian coups, the Iraq elections, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and more. In addition, she has produced notable interviews with world leaders such as Castro and Putin, managed seven Olympic games from Atlanta to Vancouver, and developed many of “Nightly’s” award-winning series on the environment.

Her hard work and dedication has been recognized with numerous honors, including Emmy, Murrow, DuPont, Peabody and Gracie awards. Flynn’s strong, global expertise will contribute greatly to our entire division, and I look forward to watching what she accomplishes next. Please join me in congratulating ML!

Steve
