CBSNews.com WILL Be Open Over the Holidays, Because, Well, News Always Happens

Page Six got its hands on a memo from CBS Interactive chief Jim Lanzone telling employees the office will be closed the last week of December and into the New Year, going so far as to write:

“Do not show up for work those days. The doors will be padlocked, and the windows turned into the material from that room in ‘The Avengers’ that Thor’s hammer couldn’t break.”

But a follow-up email from CBSNews.com EP Nancy Lane, disputed the boss’s decree:

“Contrary to the note below, CBSNews.com will NOT be closed [Dec. 24-28]. The same is true for Tuesday January 1st. These are considered regular work days … We are a NEWS site and do not have the luxury of just shutting down or staffing so thinly as to be uncompetitive.”
