CBS News Given Captain Sully “Veto Power”

CBS not only scooped NBC with the Capt. Chesley Sullenberger exclusive, they were also given “veto power” for all other media requests before the airing of 60 Minutes tonight, according to the Associated Press.

“Along with the interview, CBS and ’60 Minutes’ were given ‘veto power’ over all other media access to the crew before the interview was aired, said James Ray, a spokesman for US Airways’ pilots union,” writes the AP.

“Whatever we do on Sunday has to be blessed by CBS,” wrote Corey Caldwell, a spokeswoman for the flight attendants, to the AP.
