CBS, NBC, CNN Correspondents Granted Rare Access to North Korea

By Merrill Knox

North Korea has granted foreign journalists rare access to the country for a military parade marking the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. CBS News correspondent Seth Doane, NBC News anchor Ann Curry and CNN reporters Ivan Watson and Paula Hancocks are currently reporting from the country ahead of the parade, which will take place Saturday in Pyongyang.

In his report on “Evening News” yesterday, Doane detailed some of the rules set for visiting journalists, including being assigned to a government “minder” who keeps journalists from photographing anything without permission:

Appearing on “Today,” Curry also noted that her movements within the country are “tightly controlled.” Watch her report, as well as Watson’s latest CNN report, after the jump.
