Cable Newsers, and Others, Ring in 2009

Eight minutes into the New Year, Megyn Kelly watches as FNC’s Rick Leventhal (in TV monitor) talks with revelers in Times Square.

The media platform, about 30 feet above Duffy Square, on which several networks broadcast live. CNN was on one end of the platform, Fox News on the other with NY1, Univision, and local New York stations filling in other positions.

More after the jump, including something many have not seen publicly, at least on such a large scale, since an inauguration 12 years ago.

Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly anchored FNC’s UParty 2009 special.

The Jonas Brothers performed two songs which aired live as part of New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC before the ball dropped.

After the Jonas Brothers performed, crews brought in the mini-ball which Bill & Hillary Clinton, along with Mayor Mike Bloomberg, activated to begin the one minute countdown to Midnight.

And something most people have not seen since Bill Clinton’s second inauguration in 1997: the former first couple dancing minutes into the new year.
