Cable Network Ranker: Week of June 3

By Alex Weprin

Bolstered by Summer premieres and playoff basketball and hockey, the entertainment networks ruled the cable network roost the week of June 3-9. TNT, USA Network and History were all strong performers, while Fox News remained the only cable news channel in the top five.

FNC placed fourth among ad-supported cable networks last week in primetime (fifth among all networks). MSNBC placed 34th in primetime among ad-supported networks (35th among all networks), while CNN was 38th in primetime and HLN was 42nd (39th and 43rd among all networks, respectively).

For the business networks, CNBC placed 60th in primetime, while Fox Business was 89th. Bloomberg TV isn’t rated by Nielsen. Weather Channel placed 49th in primetime, while Current TV was only second to last, with the soon-to-be-rebranded Fox Soccer Channel scraping the bottom among all channels.
