A relatively slow week for cable resulted in relatively low ratings. USA Network, which had new episodes of its Summer series, was the top cable channel in primetime, while Fox News remained the top cable news channel. MSNBC actually topped CNN in both primetime and total day for the first time since the Boston bombings in April.
