Cable Network Ranker: Week of January 2

Despite the Iowa Caucus, none of the cable news channels saw a significant bump in the cable network rankings during the first week in January.

As usual, Fox News Channel was the top cable news outlet. In primetime among ad-supported cable networks, FNC placed fifth with 1.849 million viewers, behind ESPN, USA, History and TBS. In total day FNC placed sixth with 1.084 million viewers.

MSNBC placed 26th in primetime among ad-supported nets with 746,000 total viewers, and 29th in total day with 435,000. CNN placed 31st in primetime with 643,000 viewers, and 32nd in total day with 415,000.

Among the business channels, CNBC placed 48th among ad-supported networks with 198,000 viewers in total day and 51st in primetime with 231,000 viewers. FBN placed 88th in total day with 42,000 total viewers and 91st in primetime with 39,000 viewers.
