Cable Network Ranker: Week of Jan. 9

As usual, Fox News Channel was the top cable news network for the week of January 9-15. The channel placed fifth overall in primetime among ad-supported basic cable nets, behind ESPN, USA Network, History and TBS with 1.87 million total viewers. In total day FNC also placed fifth overall, averaging 1.08 million viewers.

MSNBC placed 27th in primetime among ad-supported cablers with 797,000 viewers, and 31st in total day with 448,000. CNN placed 34th in prime with 589,000 viewers, and 35th in total day with 379,000.

Among the Nielsen-ranked business channels: CNBC ranked 54th in primetime among ad-supported cable channels with 214,000 viewers, and 48th in total day with 183,000. Fox Business Network placed 83rd in primetime with 47,000 viewers, and 86th in total day with 51,000.

As for Current TV, the channel tied FBN in primetime with 47,000 viewers, but ranked 95th in total day with 22,000.
