By Alex Weprin

It was a big week on cable, with the MLB playoffs and the Vice Presidential debate boosting a number of channels. TBS took the top slot among all ad-supported able channels thanks to its baseball coverage.

Fox News was the top cable news channel, and placed second overall in primetime behind TBS with 3.28 million viewers. In total day FNC was third behind TBS and Nickelodeon with 1.54 million. If not for baseball FNC would likely have been first in primetime.

MSNBC also saw a debate bump, placing 9th overall in primetime and 16th in total day. MSNBC averaged 1.36 million viewers in primetime and 623,000 in total day. CNN was 23rd in primetime and 28th in total day averaging 838,000 and 432,000 viewers, respectively.
