In our monthly cable news ratings roundup, it was clear that April was a huge news month, particularly for Fox News and CNN, which saw significant ratings bumps due to the Boston bombing and the subsequent manhunt.
Those numbers are apparent in the April cable network ranker. Fox News placed second among all ad-supported cable networks in primetime for the month behind USA, and third among all cable networks when Disney Channel is added to the mix. In total day, FNC placed third among ad-supported cable channels.
CNN meanwhile was 17th among ad-supported channels (18th among all channels) in primetime, and was 13th in total day 914th among all channels. MSNBC was 27th in primetime and 28th in total day (28th and 29th among all channels).
