Cable Nets Take Note: Donald Trump Thinks There Should be More than Three Presidential Debates

By Chris Ariens

Despite labeling their Meet the Press interview with Donald Trump “exclusive,” This Week’s George Stephanopulos will also sit down with the presumptive GOP nominee for the Sunday show. While Todd sits down with Trump in his New York City Tower, Stephanopoulos will travel to Omaha today for his Trump interview scheduled for this afternoon. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton will be on CBS’s Face the Nation.

Also, who hasn’t interviewed Trump in the last 48 hours? Let’s add it up: he was Nightly News Wednesday night, followed by the O’Reilly Factor Wednesday, CNBC’s Squawk Box Thursday morning, and Fox & Friends this morning.

Speaking of the CNBC interview, in it, Trump says he’d like to take part in more than the three debates the Commission on Presidential Debates has set up. “I think the debates are a good thing. Hillary is not a bad debater. I watched her. She is not a bad debater, but I think the debates will be positive for me. I sort of wish we had more than three,” Trump said. The three sanctioned debates will take place Sept. 26, Oct. 9 and Oct. 19 and air on all the cable news and broadcast networks.
