Brokaw’s Last Week Brings Most Viewers For Political Interview Since 2004

Last Sunday’s Meet the Press was watched by the most Total Viewers since the February 8, 2004 interview of President George W. Bush. On last week’s program, Tom Brokaw interviewed President-elect Barack Obama, and introduced David Gregory as the new moderator of the program.

Gregory begins anchoring the program tomorrow, with Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Mitt Romney and others slated to appear.

In the A25-54 demo NBC was #1 with a 1.8 rating, followed by CBS and ABC tied at .9 and FOX with a .4. In the important Washington, D.C. market, NBC was first, followed by FOX, CBS and ABC.

Meet the Press averaged 6,561,000 Total Viewers, followed by CBS’ Face the Nation with 3,316,000, ABC’s This Week with 3,180,000 and FOX News Sunday with 1,377,000.
