Anchors from the broadcast networks have been back on the Gulf Coast this week for more reporting on the BP oil spill and its effect on the surrounding area.
From ABC’s “Good Morning America,” George Stephanopoulos made his first trip to the region, and weather anchor Sam Champion clocked his 10th day in either Florida or Louisiana. ABC also “20/20” anchor Chris Cuomo on the coast filing reports for “World News.”
NBC’s Brian Williams is anchoring “Nightly News” from the area again as well. Earlier this week, the Baltimore Sun’s David Zurawik pointed to Williams’ return in harshly criticizing a remark President Obama made about the media “getting tired” of the story in the gulf, “I hope Williams and other network and cable correspondents and anchors will stay long enough to make Obama eat his words of contempt for the press.”
