Brit Hume Discusses Woods Comments with O’Reilly

By kevin

On the “O’Reilly Factor,” Brit Hume discussed his comments from Sunday when he suggested Tiger Woods “turn to the Christian faith.” When asked by Bill O’Reilly if it was proselytizing, Hume said, “I don’t think so.”

Hume reiterated some of what he had said the previous day and added that he “was really meaning to say, in those comments yesterday, more about Christianity than I was about anything else” and that he “only mentioned the Buddhism because [Woods’] mother is a Buddhist and he has apparently said that he is a Buddhist — I’m not sure how seriously he practices that.” Hume concluded, “I think that Jesus Christ offers Tiger Woods something that Tiger Woods badly needs.”

Yesterday evening, Hume’s original comment was the subject of both a “Countdown” segment on MSNBC and a “Daily Show” segment, posted after the jump. (h/t mediaite)
