Brian Williams is Front Page News

“NBC Nightly News” anchor and managing editor Brian Williams is front page news on newspapers across the country this morning. From The New York Times and New York Post to the San Antonio Express-News and StarTribune in Minneapolis. Media reporters are looking deeper into the details of his discredited Iraq War story, the apology that followed and what it means to his credibility. One of the more interesting reads comes from The New Orleans Advocate which focuses on Williams’s coverage there after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Williams’ account of seeing a body float by in the French Quarter — which remained largely dry — and even a claim of catching dysentery from drinking Katrina floodwaters have raised eyebrows among bloggers and elsewhere…
