Brett Favre on Concussions and Bullies

Former NFL MVP quarterback Brett Favre tells Matt Lauer his memory problems started when he couldn’t remember that his daughter played soccer.

Favre, 44, played most of his pro career with the Green Bay Packers, and holds the record for being the most-sacked quarterback (525) in the league. He says a “wake up call” came when he was talking to his wife about their daughter Breleigh.

“I’ve pretty much made every game that she’s ever played,” said Favre. “She played softball one year, she played basketball a couple years. And– as I find out, she played soccer. I don’t remember her playing soccer. And that was probably where my first inclination that something ain’t right.”

Favre doesn’t have a son, but if he did, he says he “would be real leery of him playing” football.

Favre also tells Lauer his initial reaction to the Miami Dolphins’ bullying scandal: “You gotta be kidding me.”

The interview airs Monday on “Today.”
