The National Press Foundation has selected Fox News anchor Bret Baier as the 2017 honoree of the Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
“It’s a real honor – especially considering the group of past recipients,” Baier tweeted this afternoon. Previous recipients of the Taishoff award, which is the NPF’s highest honor for a broadcast journalist, include Martha Raddatz, Tim Russert, Gwen Ifill, George Stephanopolous, and Andrea Mitchell.
Baier will receive the award at NPF’s annual journalism awards dinner in February. The National Press Foundation is an independent nonprofit that educates practicing journalists about today’s most pressing issues.
