Bobby Valentine Will Spend His Off Days Working

When Bobby Valentine isn’t calling games on Sunday Night Baseball, the former baseball manager will serve as the director of public safety, health and welfare director in Stamford, Conn.

“Bobby Valentine has good leadership and management skills — this is the experience you need in this position,” said Mayor Michael Pavia at a press conference Thursday at the Government Center.

Prior to his new position with the city, Valentine was a member of the city’s fire task force and was named the Citizen of the Year in 2010 during a ceremony last week.
