Retired CBS News chief Washington correspondent and Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer was back on CBS This Morning, as he’s signed on as political commentator through the inauguration next January.
“Old people like to be asked their opinion,” Schieffer said this morning on CTM. “When David Rhodes said why don’t you come and offer an occasional analysis or comment on the campaign… who could resist that?”
Rhodes, the CBS News president, said Schieffer will make occasional appearances across CBS News programs. “This is a momentous presidential election year and we’ve assembled a great team to cover it,” Rhodes said.
Schieffer retired last year after 46 years at CBS. “Applause all around,” Gayle King said this morning. “So glad you’re back at the table.”
