bloomberg tv logo_304x200Bloomberg Media has made cuts in Washington D.C., Los Angeles and New York City today. The media arm of the privately-held financial services company is shutting down its Los Angeles TV operations, cutting three jobs there. In New York, up to five jobs will be eliminated as the network returns European TV operations jobs to London. And in Washington, DC 15 positions in Bloomberg News and Bloomberg TV have been cut as the company re-imagines its politics coverage moving TV production, which will results in some new jobs, to New York.

Politico reports the cuts also include the cancellation of the long-running Sunday morning public affairs show “Political Capital with Al Hunt.”

Bloomberg spokesperson Amanda Cowie tells TVNewser, “Our TV operation — in the U.S. and around the world — is growing in size. We are changing how, and where, the TV operation is run.” The Los Angeles TV operations will be moving to San Francisco, while Washington coverage will be expanded to include initiatives like First Word DC and beefing up financial crimes reporting.
