Blogging Before 6:30 p.m.

Today’s Los Angeles Times examines a new trend: In-house network news blogs. First NBC’s Brian Williams, then CBS News, and now ABC’s World News Tonight: all three broadcast networks are blogging in one form or another.

“Now television broadcasters are turning to the Internet to provide the context they cannot cram into a 22-minute newscast,” Matea Gold writes.

Of course, some media critics “question whether such in-house productions offer true accountability or mere promotional efforts.”
