Appearing on “The Late Show with David Letterman” Friday, Bill O’Reilly revisited his comments on Beyonce.
“She’s very talented, and we like Beyonce, but her new recordings and video is pretty raunchy, and a lot of young girls who don’t have responsible parents idolize her,” O’Reilly said. “… Here’s my question for Beyonce if she ever came on my program, and if she comes here you should ask her. She has $350 million in the bank … she doesn’t have to do this.”
Letterman argued that “the same kind of questions were raised about the popular music of my day that are being raised about the popular music of today,” noting the Rolling Stones had to change the lyrics of “Let’s Spend the Night Together” to “Let’s Spend Some Time Together” when they performed on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” “You just found something to whine about because you’re getting to be an old guy like me,” Letterman joked.
