Bill O’Reilly: ‘Tremendously Disheartening That We Part Ways Due to Completely Unfounded Claims’

By Chris Ariens

Bill O’Reilly is speaking out about his split with Fox News calling it “tremendously disheartening” that it ended the way it did. Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of Fox News, told staffers earlier today that a “thorough and careful… extensive review” into complaints about O’Reilly’s workplace behavior necessitated the parting.

O’Reilly calls it “the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today.”

“I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers,” he writes.

O’Reilly was one of the original members of the Fox on-air team. There are 9 left: Sean Hannity, Shepard Smith, Neil Cavuto, Trace Gallagher, Jon Scott, Carl Cameron, Lauren Green, Eric Shawn and Uma Pemmaraju.
