Bill O’Reilly Takes on ‘Deceiver’ Stephen Colbert

By Jordan Chariton

O'ReillyLast night, Bill O’Reilly responded to Stephen Colbert’s segment from last week’s “Colbert Report,” where Colbert mocked O’Reilly for suggesting focusing on equality was hurting President Obama.

“One of the biggest mouthpieces for the progressive movement is Stephen Colbert,” O’Reilly said, adding that although about a million people watch Colbert, he’s the “darling of the far-left Internet.”

Colbert had skewered O’Reilly for calling equality an “opium-laced dream.” “Mr. Colbert is a deceiver,” O’Reilly continued, adding he strongly believes in fighting for equality in various areas, but not in the form of government trying to impose it.

And while wrapping up a follow-up segment with Alan Colmes and Monica Crowley, O’Reilly compared his salary to the Comedy Central satirist’s: “Colbert and I both do a national television program…I’m paid about eight times more than he is. Do you know why?” O’Reilly asked his guests, without giving an answer.

Colbert didn’t answer O’Reilly on his show last night. We’ll see what happens tonight.
