Bill Hemmer: Dems Turn Down Invitations to Appear on His Show

By kevin

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer appeared on Brian Kilmeade’s radio show where he discussed Howard Kurtzrecent profile of him in the Washington Post.

In the profile, Kurtz wrote, “Hemmer is supposed to kick off the straight-news stretch of Fox’s daytime schedule at 9 a.m. But the bookings on the two-hour program, and sometimes the story selection, tilt markedly to the right. The first solo guest on every show but one, from June 1 through July 2, was a Republican or conservative.”

“I think viewers need to understand…how many phone calls [our bookers] make every day trying to get Democratic lawmakers to come on our program,” Hemmer said on the show. “It is not without effort. We welcome anyone on our program. Nancy Pelosi? Harry Reid? Here’s the red carpet, man…Listen, our door is wide open. To anyone in the Democratic Party who wants to come on and share their views on ‘America’s Newsroom.’ Come on, we welcome you.”
