Ben Bernanke is TIME Person of the Year

By Chris Ariens

At 7:18ET this morning, Time managing editor Richard Stengel revealed the magazine’s Person of the Year was Fed chairman Ben Bernanke. The folks over at CNBC were watching and mentioned Bernanke as the pick within a minute of the announcement on “Today,” although Squawk Box co-host Joe Kernen mumbled, “Tiger, should have been Tiger.”

After his “Today” show hit, Stengel was on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” at 7:34am and on CNBC at 7:52am

Interestingly, the magazine once again went outside the Time Warner corporate family and made the announcement on “Today,” the #1 morning news show, rather than on CNN.
