Behar, Amanpour Premiere Dates Announced

This week’s Television Critics Association press tour brings us two high profile developments among the Turner networks. Both Joy Behar’s new HLN opinion show and Christiane Amanpour’s new CNN International interview show will see September debuts.

Behar’s HLN program, “The Joy Behar Show,” will first air on September 28th and is scheduled to run at 9pmET seven days a week. Behar will maintain her “View” duties while hosting the new show that “will showcase Behar’s personal take on the day’s news, offering primetime viewers a full hour of Joy’s passionate point of view, sharp wit, and no-nonsense approach.” The LA Times has more from Behar.

While Behar’s new show will compliment the evening opinion line-up HLN is building, Amanpour’s seems a perfect fit for CNN International’s European primetime line-up. “Amanpour,” which will be broadcast live from New York, sees its debut a week earlier on Monday, September 21st. The show is billed as a “global interview program” and will air weekdays on CNN International at 3pmET and Sundays on CNN in the United States at 2pmET. CNNI’s EVP, Tony Maddox, hopes “Christiane’s powerful brand will serve as the hub for a global community of inquiring minds.”
