Ayman Mohyeldin to Anchor New Weekend Show on MSNBC

By Chris Ariens

TVNewser hears NBC News correspondent Ayman Mohyeldin will soon get his own weekend show.

The program is expected to air at 5 p.m. ET Sundays and be followed by a new show hosted by NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent Kasie Hunt. Hunt’s move was first reported by Politico back in July. No comment from MSNBC on the programming additions.

Mohyeldin also co-hosts MSNBC’s early morning show First Look along with Yasmin Vossoughian and Louis Burgdorf.

Mohyeldin began his career as a desk assistant in NBC’s Washington bureau in early 2001. Born in Egypt and raised in Georgia, Mohyeldin later reported from the middle east for Fox News and CNN before joining Al Jazeera in 2006 as a Baghdad-based correspondent. He returned to NBC in 2011 as a foreign correspondent.
