Attorney For HuffPost Reporter Demands Eric Bolling Drop Lawsuit

By Chris Ariens

Huff Post reporter Yashar Ali, who is being sued by Fox News host Eric Bolling, says the women who accuse Bolling of texting them unsolicited images of male genitalia don’t want notoriety, just justice.

Ali was a guest on SiriusXM’s The Dean Obeidallah Show to talk about Bolling’s lawsuit against him. Ali says he talked with 14 sources who corroborate his claim.

“One of the woman, I finally got her to agree to speak to me on the day that I published the story. Because she had been so hesitant. Because she didn’t want to rock the boat. Because she didn’t want to confirm something that had caused her so much pain. And she kept on putting me off. And we just kept in touch, and she finally spoke to me at length about the experience she had. And was traumatized by it. And has no desire for publicity or money.

They want justice,” he said. “They don’t want someone that does these things to be in a position of power. And they don’t want this to go unanswered.”

Ali’s lawyer sent a letter to Bolling’s attorneys Friday calling their suit “utterly devoid of merit” and demanding them to drop it.

“Continuing litigation will only reveal that Mr. Bolling’s lawsuit was filed for public relations purposes and to retaliate against Mr. Ali for uncovering the truth,” writes attorney Patricia Glaser.

“It’s important to note that he filed this against me personally,” Ali said on Obeidallah’s show. “He did not include HuffPost. You file a $50 million lawsuit against an individual, as opposed to Huff Post, which is owned by Verizon. The fact of the matter is, is that he didn’t do that because he thought that I was some young and stupid freelance reporter for HuffPost that would get scared by this. Good luck!”
