As Hurricane Irene Approaches, Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore Shows Off How To Pack For a Storm

By Alex Weprin

The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore is about as veteran a storm-chaser as they come. In other words, when he has advice for how to pack for an incoming hurricane, he is someone worth listening to.

On the channel this morning, Cantore showed viewers how he was planning to pack for Hurricane Irene, which is bearing down on the eastern seaboard. Among the items he is packing: plain black shirts “I was wearing these before Anderson Cooper” as well as a dark blue shirt “for Brian Williams, because he loves dark blue, in case I am on the show with him at some point.”

Also: a wetsuit, and lots and lots of shoes.
