Williams was first to ID the suspect as Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad. WNBC investigative reporter Jonathan Dienst as well as reporter Ida Siegel in Connecticut joined in MSNBC’s coverage before and after the 1:30amET news conference from Attorney General Eric Holder.

CNN began a simulcast of CNN International with anchor Asieh Namdar and including CNN domestic correspondents Susan Candiotti and Deborah Feyerick at JFK, where Faisal was arrested around 11:45pmET, trying to get on a flight to Dubai.
