“Are We Beating a Dying Horse?”

By Brian

Last week, in the 18-34 demo, “Fox produced 42,000 viewers, CNN 41,000, MSNBC 37,000 and Headline News 28,000. A total of 148,000 viewers; that’s 8.3% of their audiences.”

That data leads Reese Schonfeld to blog that “‘the young audience’ is Moby Dick to everyone in the news business. We search, we hunt, we test audiences, we run focus groups and still well less than 10% of the cable news network audience is under 18.”

Is this anything new? Hasn’t it been this way forever? (Via ICN)
