April Ratings: Waking Up With FNC

By SteveK

FNC’s morning show Fox & Friends saw a strong month, up 21% from 7-9amET in Total Viewers year-to-year. The increase was the most by any cable news program before 6pmET compared to April ’07 (when all networks saw increased ratings after the Virginia Tech shootings).

Fox & Friends averaged more than one million viewers this month (1,023,000). The program strongly defeated second-place CNN’s American Morning (at 389,000, down 13% from year-to-year) and MSNBC’s Morning Joe (at 347,000, up 3%). April ’07 was the month Don Imus was fired.

In the A25-54 demo, Fox & Friends was down 3%, MSNBC’s 7-9amET was down 19% and American Morning dropped 35% year-to-year.
