April 2011 Ratings: HLN’s Primetime Lineup Stumbles

HLN had a rough April, seeing significant, double-digit year-to-year declines in nearly all of its key programming. Even its signature breakfast show “Morning Express,” which has been a bright spot on its lineup, saw its ratings drop.

The ratings for April, 2011:

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 305K Total Viewers / 104K A25-54
  • Total Day (Mon-Sun): 216K Total Viewers / 91K A25-54
  • “Morning Express” was down -5% in total viewers and-19% in the key adults 25-54 demo.

    HLN’s primetime shows–which now have a stable lineup with the addition of Dr. Drew–fared even worse:


    At 7 PM “Issues” was down -29% in total viewers and -32% in the demo.

    At 8 PM “Nancy Grace” was down-36% in total viewers and -39% in the demo compared to last year.

    At 9 PM “Dr Drew” was down -56% in total viewers and 365 in the demo.

    Ay 10 PM “Joy Behar” was down -42% in total viewers and -48% in the demo.

    At 11 PM “Showbiz Tonight” was down -45% in total viewers and -47% in the demo
