Another Correction From ‘Fox & Friends’

By Alex Weprin

Another day, another clarification from “Fox & Friends.” Apparently taking a cue from The Drudge Report, the FNC morning program showed a picture of President Obama talking to a pirate this morning, with the chyron “Too busy for Israel: President Finds Time For Pirate, Letterman.” The only problem is that the photo is from 2009, when the President was filming a bit for the White House Correspondents Dinner, not yesterday, as implied by the chyron and the co-hosts.

Steve Doocy also talked about the president’s fundraiser with Beyonce and Jay Z, as well as his visit with late night host David Letterman.

“All that stuff, and yet, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is still waiting for that President meeting with Mr. Obama, remember that the White House said he was too busy to meet with him,” Doocy said.

The end result: another clarification from the show, this time on Twitter:

Earlier, the program teased the segment on Twitter saying “why was the President meeting with a pirate? we’ll explain next!”

It has been a particularly rough few weeks for “Fox & Friends” which was pranked by a college kid on Monday, while a week ago The Washington Post‘s Erik Wemple implored FNC to “kill” the morning program after it fudged unemployment numbers to make President Obama look particularly ineffective.
