Now we know why Ann Curry was away from the Today show for several days late last month — Curry was in Iran doing interviews for a Dateline special tomorrow night called “Inside Iran.”
According to NBC, Curry talks with the people of Iran “to learn about the country’s shifting attitudes on important issues that are impacting Friday’s election, including the economy, nuclear energy, and civil rights.”
“Curry discovers that Iran, a country rich in history, also has a rapidly changing culture with evolving opinions on women’s rights, health, and religion,” says the NBC press release.
