Anderson Cooper will remain with CNN, renewing his contract through 2016, CNN confirms to TVNewser.
The globe-trotting host of “AC360″— and more recently “AC360 Later” will continue in primetime as well as hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve, and “CNN Heroes.” He also regularly contributes to “60 Minutes,” and moderated a presidential primary debate during the 2012 campaign.
“AC360” has led the pack in primetime growth at CNN, last month registering the largest year-over-year growth in CNN’s primetime lineup: up +27% in total viewers and up +19% in the A25-54 demo.
Cooper recently returned from the Philippines after covering Typhoon Haiyan. And, as he tweeted last night, he’ll also be on FOX Sunday night:
Im very excited. I’m on @TheSimpsons Sunday at 8/7c pic.twitter.com/skuIJw6x54
