Amy Robach Will Undergo Chemotherapy

By Merrill Knox

Amy Robach visited “Good Morning America” this morning, three weeks to the day after she underwent her double mastectomy, for an update on how her breast cancer treatment is going. “Physically, I feel remarkably well,” she said. “Mentally, it’s another challenge, because that was phase one … that’s the first step, but the next couple ones are going to be tougher.”

During the first surgery, Robach’s doctors found a second malignant tumor. They also discovered the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, which is why she will undergo four months of chemotherapy starting December 16. “I’m going to work through it,” she said. “I saw Robin [Roberts] do it. I know how strong you were and you give me strength, Robin, because it is important to get up and have something to do each day.” Watch:
