Amanda Knox, Steve Jobs Help Make ‘Nightline’ #1 Last Week

By Chris Ariens

“Nightline” was #1 again last week in Total Viewers as well as both younger demos. A busy news week which included the acquittal and return to the U.S. of Amanda Knox and the death of Steve Jobs helped make “Nightline” a late night destination.

The ABC News show saw week-to-week gains across all demos: Total Viewers (+1%), A25-54 (+3%) and A18-49 (+5%), hitting its largest overall audience in 6 weeks – since August 22, 2011.

ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately :50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
