Alex Wagner Returns to MSNBC as Senior Political Analyst, Guest Anchor

Alex Wagner is returning to MSNBC, this time as a senior political analyst and guest anchor.

In her new role, Wagner will share her perspective and political analysis on the issues as the country prepares for the 2022 midterms. She will also guest-host various MSNBC programs (don’t be surprised to see her get a turn guest-hosting 9 p.m. while Rachel Maddow is off).

Nicolle Wallace is announcing Wagner’s new role Monday on her show, Deadline: White House.

MSNBC viewers undoubtedly remember the veteran TV newser from her stint as host of Now with Alex Wagner, which debuted in 2011 and was canceled in July 2015. She left MSNBC not long after and jumped to The Atlantic the following spring as a senior editor. Wagner then joined CBS News in Nov. 2016 , where she served as a special correspondent and co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday. Wagner announced she would be leaving CTM: Saturday in March 2018 to co-host and executive produce the Showtime weekly political docuseries, The Circus, replacing Mark Halperin who was dropped from the show due to sexual harassment allegations.
