Al Roker’s Morning Show Murders “A Lot Of Fun”

By Alissa Krinsky

Al Roker has written his first murder-mystery, The Morning Show Murders: A Novel, out tomorrow. But “it’s not deadly serious, no pun intended,” Roker says in an Amazon.com video. “I think it’s a lot of fun.”

Murders is about fictional character Billy Blessing, who does cooking segments for a morning show and is suspected of killing the program’s executive producer.

“The one thing I will state, right now, categorically, I have never killed my executive producer,” Roker says on Amazon, while joking that “there have been a couple I wanted to kill!”

Today EP Jim Bell jokes with USA Today that the book is “sadly very telling…they’re your best friends, and then they go to a fictional side and it’s obvious they want to kill me. It’s so obvious.”

TVNewser’s Kevin Allocca will be at Roker’s book party in New York tomorrow night, with a report on Wednesday.
