NBC “Today” executive producer Jim Bell and weather anchor Al Roker get profiled in The Hollywood Reporter‘s new “Philanthropy Issue.” The reason for the accolades? Roker’s “Lend a Hand” series on “Today.,” which helps those in need.
For 10 years, Roker has spearheaded Today’s annual weeklong Lend a Hand tour, crisscrossing the U.S. in a truck filled with millions of dollars worth of supplies — everything from food to clothes to cars are donated by businesses — for needy charities. “He has not forgotten where he came from and considers himself to be the luckiest guy. He loves giving back,” says Today exec producer Bell.
