Al Roker Gets Late-Night Shoutout From Bill Murray

NBC’s Al Roker “is like a huge Ghostbusters guy,” funnyman Bill Murray said during a guest appearance last night on the Late Show With David Letterman, when the subject of the film’s devotees came up.

“And if you come up to him and throw any line from Ghostbusters at him,” Murray continued, “Al will turn and say the next line at you.”

Roker says it’s true. “It’s a fun movie in the vein of Abbott and Costello’s Hold That Ghost,” he tells TVNewser. “There are so many great lines that fit so many occasions.”

Getting a shoutout from Murray, Roker says, was “better than, as Dr. Egon Spengler [the Ghostbuster played by Harold Ramis] put it, ‘…all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.'”

We’ll take that to mean Roker liked it. Murray, by the way, had his leg in a sling last night as he recovers from a ski injury.
