Al Jazeera Employees Launch Website Aimed at Finding Jobs

By Mark Joyella

As Al Jazeera America enters the final weeks before the network ends operations in April, employees have banded together to create a website, The Best of Al Jazeera America Digital, that both showcases their work–and serves as an invitation to media companies: hire us.

The site, built by AJAM’s Joanna Kao, a multimedia reporter and developer, features stories by category and by journalist, with 50 AJAM editors, reporters and producers each showing off their best work. “We’ve produced thousands of compelling stories,” the site says. “With the company set to close, check out some of our best work as we look to new opportunities.”

One of the journalists who helped build the site, Ehab Zahriyeh, is a news producer and reporter for Al Jazeera America’s digital live desk. “We were given the mandate to do the best possible journalism, and that’s what we did,” he said.
