Katie Welnhofer, a producer on FBN’s Mornings with Maria, has been fired from the network following her arrest last week in a wide-ranging criminal investigation into an upscale Manhattan cocaine enterprise.
Welnhofer and more than a dozen others, both buyers and sellers, were rounded up and hauled into court last week.
A Fox Business spokesperson responded to TVNewser’s request about Welnhofer’s employment status saying, “Katie Welnhofer was terminated for a security breach.”
It’s not known what the security breach was. But prosecutors said Welnhofer had the drugs delivered to her Chelsea apartment. She was arrested late Wednesday, brought in to court on Thursday and her employment was terminated late Friday.
Welnhofer joined FBN in May 2015 after stints at ONE World Sports, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CNBC and Bloomberg.
